I am working on the quilt pictured above. I’m using a white piece of wood trim to guide the marking lines of the quilt. The quilt is 90″ x 90.” If you’re interested in knowing how to make a quilt like this, the link for the pattern can be found here:

Gee, I’ve been away from posting for awhile…there has been a lot of life going on lately.
Here’s a quick update:
*I have been working on projects, and for those who are earnestly waiting for me to produce their quilt, I’m moving slower than I thought. My apologies.
*The Christmas holiday season was busy. I made a trip to Reno, Nevada to see my daughter and her family.
*The first week or so of January, I had the flu and was sick for a good two weeks. I was a bit dehydrated, had little energy and was not interested in eating. I have to say this one was a bit uncomfortable. I’m glad it’s over though.
*One of my neighbor’s houses nearby caught on fire. Usually, I mind my own business and hope that all are well. However, this house fire has been hard to process, because I know the family involved; we’ve been neighbors for over 20 years. No one was injured in the fire, and all are safe, but it’s been a bit distressing, surprisingly shocking…a real loss.
*I’ve been trying the Fit Bit routine of walking 10 K steps or more a day. All was going well, until I hit the flu at the beginning of the month. Also, this week I changed cell phones, Now, I’m having trouble syncing the Fit Bit app with my bracelet. I sure miss the Fit Bit Bracelet Buzz when I haven’t met my goal for the day.

*On the horizon, I am looking at finding a little two bedroom fixer upper house in Reno. I have a realtor, and together we have been pouring over the house listings. Reno, Nevada is a hot market. Things sell fast and not for cheap. It is my hope to post pictures when I find a house of the renovation project here on my blog.
*In a few weeks, I’m going to be taking a day and a half train trip from Reno, Nevada through Sacramento, California and on to Salem, Oregon. I will be posting updates of this trip on my blog. In the spirit of Bill Bryson and his book A Walk in the Woods, and Peter Jenkins and his books: A Walk Across America, The Walk West Across America 2, and his book Across China, I want to write about the experience as it is happening, what I am thinking about, and what I am seeing on the journey. Bryson and Jenkins wrote about their hiking trips; this will be about a train trip. I want to blog and post pictures about the experience as it is happening in real time instead of waiting and turning it into a book later. We’ll see what happens.
Hope you are well and the flu bug is staying away from your neck of the woods!
