The last time I showed this quilt it was soaking and looked like this.
That day, I changed the water 2 more times. As a rinse, the last 14 hours the quilt soaked in fresh water with less than a tenth of the recommended Vintage Textile Soak per gallon. This is the Nine Patch Quilt on the drying rack after 24 hours of soaking.
The off white squares are looking cleaner. Overall, the color seems to have faded a bit.
The piecing of the lighter blocks is fascinating. If you look closely, you’ll see that nothing was wasted. The intricate, detailed, and good use of fabric by quilt makers in the past is amazing to me.
I am already thinking of what stencils I want to use and how I want to quilt the solid blocks. This quilt is anther step closer to being finished!
I hope you’re having a great weekend!
