This is a Nine Patch Quilt from my Mother-In-Law’s attic. Over 20 years ago, our family made a trip to Michigan to visit my husband’s parents. This quilt was among the treasures at their house. I politely asked if I could have this top, so I could turn it into a quilt with special memories. I was given permission to have the quilt in hopes that one day it would be finished.
This is a quilt whose time has come to be finished.
While moving into the quilt studio cabin last week, I found this handy supply of Vintage Textile Soak. I bought this soaking mixture when I first moved to Oregon.
I am trying this soaking solution out today. The directions say to let the quilt soak from 4-24 hours in 3 Tablespoons of Vintage Textile Soak per gallon of water.
After 1 hour of soaking, this is what the tub looks like. The water looks like a cup of tea.
I’ll let you know what happens!
I have a feeling we are going to be surprised by the results!
